Font Tests (Planning)

Main Album Font

This will be used for the album cover and headings through the Digipak.

Font 1

Font 2

Font 3

I asked a series of people which font would work best for this purpose and the majority of people said that Fonts1and 3 look the most realistic for the bands style and genre. In the end I have chosen to go with font 3 as I think it is a lot clearer to read than font 1 and also looks more conventional and professional.

I also asked them what colour should I used out of:
  1. Red
  2. Black
  3. White
  4. Grey
  5. Green
I chose these particular ones as they stick to the tradional music colour scheme of Red, Black and White. I also made green an option as the band is called Green Day.

Out of the 10 people I asked the most popular was red and the reasons behind it were that it stood out the most so I think I am going to use red in my Digipak.

Lyrics Font

In my Digipak I am also going to create two images of the lyrics from the song 'Give Me Novacaine'. I am going to use a handwritten looking font and I narrowed it down to these choices to ask people.

Font 5
Font 6

Font 4

Out of these fonts the majority of people I asked said Font 6 which is the one I wanted to use as it looks realistic and is easy to read.

Font for Advert and for the rest of the Digipak

I did not ask anyone about this one as I decided upon this as I think it looked the best for the simple typography. The font is named Franklin Gohic Book Style. I will also use it in consistant capitalisation as in many albums Green Day have created they have used this.
