Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 (Film Trailer)

The beginning of the trailer uses a slow motion version of the well known Harry Potter themed music along with fades of establishing shots and close ups to increase tension and set the mood of the trailer and what you would expect the movie to be like. It uses this technique as it is a build up to what everyone was waiting for which is the 'epic' conclusion to the saga and this thought is increased by the use of slow motion and the editing technique of a fade. This also creates quite an eerie feel to the trailer and this is added by using the heavy breath before the voice over speech of character which creates an ominous tone.
There is a gradual build of to the fast music to build up to the action the trailer. In the trailer the action seems quite slow compared to the music but this only creates the right feel of tension to keep the audience guessing. They also introduce the makers of the film which is Warner bros. and then use words to describe the opinions of those who have watched or made it to entice the audience.
As we get into the action of the trailer the shot types are more varient which creates a fast pase and will increase excitement in the audience. This is also apprant in the use of fast pased music which also relates to the theme music so the audience can feel more engaged into to what's happenign within the trailer. As this part of the trailer comes into motion there is more diegetic sound to give you a taster of the movie which is what everyone wants.
Towards the end ocf the trailer the shot slows down but the music gets louder into a climax which the audience will know it will soon end as it is very stereotypical to use this technique. They uses the icon 3D font of 'Harry Potter' at the end to enhance what the audience knows as a reminder of it as it will be the last one in the saga.
Harry Potter is well known for it's use of special effects and outstanding reveloutinary graphics in wand work and creatures and this i shown in the trailer to show how far these movies have come which engages the audience. You can see the general theme is magic as they have wands with brightly coloured lighning coming out of them and a use of a white dragon breathing fire and also a goblin which we assume as they have stereotyped.
Too begin with the lighting they use is very low key to create an atmosphere and then as the action starts to come in it becomes hight but with aspects of low key as they still want to create tension for the genre of the film which is fantasy and also to empahsise it's the last one and will lead to the climax of the story.
